Huo Mian was still waiting for Su Yu’s answer when she heard the door open. Immediately, she hid her cellphone under her pillow and pretended to be asleep.

“Mian, are you asleep?”

“Today I met a client who does the business of imported medicines and got from him a tube of stretch mark cream… After the abortion, you still have stretch marks due to the nine months of pregnancy… They are ugly and I want to help you remove them.”

“Great. Put it there.”

“I have time today. Let me apply it for you.”

Qin Chu sat down on the head of the bed.

Huo Mian was panicked because her belly was smooth and white without any marks; she couldn’t fake these things.

She had planned to wear a belly band or something when she slept with Qin Chu and then find a place to put some stretch marks on her belly.

Later when she saw Qin Chu refuse to share her bed, she had given up the plan.

So she was caught by surprise when Qin Chu came with the so-called stretch mark cream and offered to apply it on her.

“Hon, um… Not tonight. I’m sleepy.”

“You don’t have to get up. I’ll apply it on your belly while you sleep.”

That said, he reached out to pull up the covering, but Huo Mian bolted up immediately.

“No. I just… don’t like you blowing hot and cold with me… I’ll accept the cream with thanks… You can go now if that’s all you want to say to me.”

“Don’t you want me to stay?” Qin Chu didn’t stand up.

Huo Mian, or Leila, looked at him in surprise, finding he was unreadable.

She had thought she knew him well, but looking at his unreadable face, she realized she had never understood him.

“I thought you… don’t want to sleep with me,” Huo Mian said hesitatingly.

“But you’re right. You’re my wife; we can’t always sleep in separate rooms. Do you want to take a bath with me?” Qin Chu asked her.

Leila felt nervous…

“I’m… not ready yet. Give me some time.”

“Hehe. When do you need time to get ready for our intimacy? Mian… you said I changed, but I think you’ve become a stranger to me.”

“No, I haven’t. It’s your imagination…”

“Fine. Go to sleep. I won’t bother you. I’ll put the cream here. Remember to use it.”

“Okay.”

Huo Mian nodded. Watching Qin Chu walk out, she was relieved. It was fortunate that Qin Chu didn’t insist, or she would’ve exposed herself.

Tomorrow, she must find a place to put fake stretch marks on her belly. After sleeping with Qin Chu, she’d complete her mission and could go back.

Qin Chu walked out of the room with a meaningful smile on his lips.

Tomorrow, he’d take revenge for Pudding. This woman… would get a surprise…
