Even though Qin Chu had known Huo Mian for over ten years, he rarely saw her lose control.

“That won’t happen. Su Yu is going to be fine.”

“But they’ll find out we’re investigating them, so they’ll punish Su Yu.” Huo Mian now cried even harder. She took out her phone and opened that video.

She no longer dared to watch.

Su Yu was wounded by a gun. His body leaned forward and his face pale. It looked sad.

Qin Chu took over the phone and watched the video. His brows locked. He finally understood why Huo Mian was unwilling to actively tell him this.

It looked like the situation wasn’t that simple. It couldn’t be solved by secretly investigating.

Rick was an extremely careful guy, but Mr. Y found out they were investigating him. What did this mean? It meant that the enemy was powerful and had an enormous amount of information. The enemy knew about their every move.

“Mian, I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have.” Qin Chu felt guilty. He shouldn’t have been so brash and kept on investigating. If he didn’t do so, then Su Yu wouldn’t have been tortured.

Although Su Yu was not shot in a critical spot, he would still not be able to hold on much longer if they continued to torture him like that.

Huo Mian wanted to kill Zhao Qingya right now but she was powerless.

“Don’t cry… You’ll scare the child…” Qin Chu reminded her. Only then did Huo Mian feel big fetal movements. The fetal was already eight months old. If Huo Mian had big emotional fluctuations, the fetal would react too.

Now, Huo Mian stopped crying.

She picked up a tissue and wiped her tears dry. She apologized while rubbing her belly.

“Yurao, are you scared because of Mommy? Sorry, I didn’t mean to.” She comforted as she looked down at her belly. After a while, the baby calmed down and no longer moved drastically.

Qin Chu looked at Huo Mian’s swollen feet. Without saying a word, he carried her to the bed. Then he went to the bathroom to get hot water so she could have a foot bath.

Whenever Huo Mian saw how selfless Qin Chu was being and how considerate he was to her, she would be moved.

“Honey.”

“Yeah?”

“Do my feet look like pig feet?” Huo Mian teased.

“No.”

Then he added, “Pig feet aren’t so fat…”

Huo Mian had stopped crying and started laughing. Qin Chu’s dry sense of humour, though rare and degrading, was always heartwarming.

“Honey, when the baby is born, will you still wash my feet?”

“No.”

“Hmph. So you are doing this for your son.” Huo Mian pretended to get mad.

“After you give birth, I’ll want to give you a whole shower.”

Huo Mian’s face grew bright red when he talked dirty to her.

Then Qin Chu complained, “This kid is making me wait for almost 10 months. I can’t hold it in any longer. After he’s born, you must compensate me… You will always shower with me so I can lather you in bodywash…”

Just thinking about that scene made his nose almost bleed.

Huo Mian mumbled shyly, “Who needs you to wash my body… It’s not like I don’t have hands…”
