She opened her mouth with astonishment and was so excited that she couldn’t speak.

She didn’t know if it was safe or not, or whether someone was listening into their conversations.

The captain slowly took off his cap and walked over. Then he hugged his daughter. “Happy birthday, dear.”

“Dad why are you here?” Huo Mian cried with joy.

She couldn’t even imagine that her father could celebrate her birthday with her even in her dreams. However, he was here on this boat.

She had not received any news prior.

Even Lu Yan couldn’t come, so she thought the Professor would never make it.

“Sorry for not being able to celebrate your birthday all these years. I’ve come to see you now,” the Professor said in a hoarse voice.

“When did you get on the boat?”

“10 minutes ago.”

“Huh? 10 minutes ago?” Huo Mian said in shock.

The boat was in the middle of the ocean. There was no helicopter that landed. How did her father get onto the boat?

“How…”

Huo Mian was so anxious and excited that she stuttered.

“I helped him swim over…” a crisp voice said.

Huo Mian looked towards the washroom and saw Lu Yan leaning against the door at the entrance with a lollipop in her mouth.

She was in a sailor suit and had her hair up in a ponytail. She looked dazzling.

“Yan…”

Huo Mian was delightfully surprised by what had just happened…

“How…” Huo Mian couldn’t describe the overwhelming feelings she was experiencing.

“Come here birthday girl. Blow out the candles and make a wish.”

Lu Yan had got a cake from somewhere. It looked ugly, but you could still tell that it was a cake. There was only one candle on the ugly cake, and Huo Mian was rather amused by the sight.

“Do I need to do that?” Huo Mian was laughing so hard that there were tears in her eyes.

“Yup. Everyone spends their birthdays like this. Regarding this cake though… it’s my first time baking one. I’m a genius at making bombs but I don’t know how I have zero talent for baking.”

“Haha, so you made this…” Huo Mian laughed.

“Who else do you think can make such an explosive cake?”

Huo Mian immediately closed her eyes and blew out the candle once she realized Lu Yan made the cake.

When she opened her eyes, what came out of her mouth shocked everyone. “Shouldn’t you three sing me happy birthday?”

Qin Chu: “…”

Lu Yan: “…”

Professor: “…”

Huo Mian continued, “I don’t mind the English or Chinese version.”

“Sis, can you not overdo it. You know what situation we’re in, right? I’m afraid that the world will flip before we could finish singing the song,” Lu Yan laughed.

“Did you and Dad really swim here?” Huo Mian asked in surprise.

“How else can we get here?” Lu Yan said as she crossed her arms.

“Bullsh*t. It’s like 10,800 miles from here to the States… Do you think you’re a sea turtle and can swim anywhere you wish?” Huo Mian said with a look that showed she was not a child that one could easily deceive.

Lu Yan was speechless.

Then, Lu Yan pointed to Qin Chu and said, “Chu, I can tell my sister is not in her right mind with her pregnancy. Can you explain the whole process to her again? I’m too lazy to do that.”
