“Mian, I won’t live for much longer. Can’t you agree to this small request?”
“Huo Siqian, do you really think it’s necessary? What is the use of seeing me?”
“I’ll be imprisoned before my death. Seeing you is the only hope that sustains me.”
Hearing his words, Huo Mian felt a lump in her throat.
“Why?”
“You’re not me and don’t need to know why. If you agree, I’ll promise to cooperate with you and give you some information about Ian. In the past years, I’ve collected lots of the brothers’ secrets and criminal acts.”
“I heard about the relation between you and Nalo…”
“It’s all in the past…” Huo Siqian didn’t like the topic of Nalo. When Huo Mian brought it up, he turned his head and didn’t continue.
“Mian, in your eyes, it’s probably a stain in my life or just a joke. But you must remember a man has no choice in certain situations. So long as I could live, I didn’t care what they did to me. So long as I’m still alive, I can still hope.”
“Okay. You have great fortitude.”
“Do you agree to my request?”
“I’ll think about it. But how can I trust you?”
“During your monthly visits to me, I’ll leak some information to you. It’s a win-win for both of us, isn’t it?”
“Okay. I see.”
Then she turned to leave.
“Mian, if you can’t love me, I’d be satisfied that you hate me… so long as you don’t forget about me.”
Huo Mian paused her steps for a moment and left without looking back.
Huo Siqian was a total jerk, but how come she felt so sad when she heard his words?
She dared not tell Qin Chu what Huo Siqian had told her because Huo Siqian had dealt deadly blows and great damage to Qin Chu.
She wouldn’t hurt her husband because of an outsider.
“How did it go? Are you okay?”
The moment Huo Mian walked out, Qin Chu took her hand.
“I’m fine.”
“What did he say?”
“He has a proposal.”
Then, she told him her conversation with Huo Siqian; of course, she only told him the proposal, not Huo Siqian’s affectionate words for her.
“Honey, what do you think?”
“I don’t need you to do it for me. Honey, I’ll investigate Ian. If I need you to help me with this thing, then I’m truly a useless husband.”
“I know. It’s why I didn’t agree with his proposal.” Huo Mian had known Qin Chu wouldn’t agree to it
However thoughtful, he was still a man, a man with great self-esteem.
How could he let his wife visit another man every month?
Since he dared to challenge Ian, he’d never ask a woman to help him.
“Good job. From now on, don’t see Huo Siqian again,” Qin Chu held her in his arms and said feelingly.
“Okay.”
Huo Mian nodded obediently because she knew what her husband was worried about.
No one could predict what Huo Siqian would do.
He had separated her from her husband twice, so she fully understood how Qin Chu felt.
At midnight, she took some sweets and drinks with Mr. Qin and went back to bed.
When she woke up again, the plane had landed.
“Honey, will we go home directly?” Huo Mian looked at the familiar city and almost jumped in excitement.
“No. We’ll go to Green Tea Restaurant.”
“Why are we going there?” Huo Mian was surprised.
“Su Yu has taken Pudding and Little Bean there to have sweets,” Qin Chu said with a smile.
