Zhang Manlin realized she couldn’t make a sound no matter how hard she tried.
Her mouth was clenched tightly by a hand.
Then she smelled a strange scent that turned her mind blank. She lost all consciousness.
She woke up when cold water was splashed onto her face…
When she came to, she found she was bound tightly onto a round cement column.
She was in a pitch-black deserted factory.
“Bit*h! I finally got you.”
Hearing the voice, Zhang Manlin looked up immediately and saw Ah-Cheng sitting right in front of her.
Behind him stood four of his subordinates.
Seeing Ah-Cheng, Zhang Manlin’s mind blanked out because she knew this man hated her guts.
“Big Brother Cheng…”
She began weakly.
“Shut up! Who’s your brother? Shameless traitor… All my life, I hate traitors the most,” Ah-Cheng cursed scornfully.
“Big Brother Cheng, this is a misunderstanding. I’m not a traitor,” Zhang Manlin tried to talk herself out of the trouble.
“Misunderstanding? Well, well. Now listen to this.”
Ah-Cheng tapped his cellphone and played a short audio clip.
Hearing her own voice, Zhang Manlin was dumbstruck.
It was the secret conversation she and Qin Chu had in the office… But, how did Ah-Cheng get this clip? Did Qin Chu give it to him?
For one moment, Zhang Manlin was confused.
“You didn’t know that our boss had planted bugs in Qin Chu’s office and even his home long ago? The boss and I heard every word when you swore loyalty to Qin Chu.”
“Big Brother Cheng, it’s not what it looks like. Listen to me. I did it on purpose so I could gain Qin Chu’s trust. I didn’t betray Brother Qian. I’m still on your side…”
Zhang Manlin thought fast and tried to find an excuse for herself.
Unfortunately, Ah-Cheng wasn’t so easily fooled by her lies; besides, he hated her guts.
“Do you think I’m a fool? Even now, you want to lie your way out of it. To tell you the truth, the boss is very disappointed with you.”
“Where’s Brother Qian? I want to see him. I have things to say to him face to face.”
Zhang Manlin had paled in fear and yelled that she wanted to see Huo Siqian.
“You think the boss will see you now? What do you think you are? To tell you the truth, the boss said that he had kept a good-for-nothing for the last five years… But I think you’re just an ungrateful bit*h. You took the boss’s money and changed your stupid pig face to resemble Miss Huo. Unfortunately, you only look like her on the surface, but what’s beneath your face is far inferior to hers. Now you even dared to betray us and tried to get the boss killed. Bit*h, since when did you become bold, uh?”
That said, Ah-Cheng got up, pinched Zhang Manlin’s chin with his fingers, and cursed her viciously.

Now that Ah-Cheng had seen through her tricks, she began to play meek.
