Three hours ago, Rick called to tell Qin Chu that Jiang Linyue had placed something in a bank’s safety deposit box before she died. She seemed to be the only one who could retrieve it.
Now that she was dead, only her family could go in lieu of her. However, both her parents were abroad, and no one had been able to get in touch with them.
Therefore, Qin Chu had been looking for ways to retrieve whatever she deposited. He had a feeling that it had something to do with the incident, or else Jiang Linyue wouldn’t have kept it in a safe.
The next morning, Huo Mian woke up bright and early to go to GK Headquarters.

All the employees were used to Huo Mian being at the company and treated her as their leader; no one doubted her capabilities when it came to taking over for Qin Chu.
During the morning meeting, Huo Mian issued the design department a bonus before arranging sale channels for their new line of jewelry.
Then, as soon as she went back to the office, she saw Chen Jie standing outside. “Jie, why are you here?”
“Chief… I, I…”
“Let’s talk inside…”
Upon seeing that Chen Jie was about to cry, Huo Mian pushed open her office door and gestured her to come in.
“Chief, I want to resign too… if you’re not at South Side, I don’t want to be there either… Can you find a job for me here at GK too? I want to continue being your assistant.”
Chen Jie loved working for Huo Mian; she originally thought the latter had just asked for a few days off, but later the hospital told her that Huo Mian was issued an unpaid leave and that they didn’t know when she would be coming back.
