Lu Jinnian furrowed his brows when he heard that Qiao Anhao went to a hospital yesterday.

Hospital? Qiao Qiao went to a hospital yesterday? How did he not know?

His assistant thought about how Qiao Anhao had called him yesterday in the afternoon, then became just as nervous. “Mr. Lu, did her trip have anything to do with her crying like crazy over the phone yesterday? Could it be that she has some kind of incurable disease…”

Her explanation left everyone speechless.

They couldn’t make the winner of the competition abort her child for a movie. After all, it was a living being.

But, if the winner of this competition and female lead to the movie wasn’t Qiao Anhao, would they have to then give it to the runner up?

Just as the team leaders of the show got together to make a plan, the interpreter translated what Qiao Anhao had just said to the American director. He gave a nod, then reached his hand out towards Qiao Anhao and said a kind “Congratulations.”

Qiao Anhao hastily reached her hand out and shook the director’s hand.

With that, the director raised the microphone and said, “This is something definitely worth being happy over. I will speak with the people in charge of the movie, to convince them to start it after the baby is born.”

When Qiao Anhao mentioned the baby for the second time, Lu Jinnian still remained composed, staring at her standing elegantly on stage. He blinked again, then when the director spoke, he realized exactly what she had said. He gawked at her as though there was something wrong. He blinked over and over again, then turned his head in slight disbelief. With a calm expression on his face, he asked his assistant, “What did Qiao Qiao say just now?”

The expression on his assistant’s face was full of shock, and he said in excitement, “Mr. Lu, Miss Qiao said she’s pregnant.”
